About Muhammad Waqas Javed, Chief Geophysicist

Waqas is an expert Geoscientist with +13 years of extensive experience in high-stakes subsurface geophysical investigations, signal processing, hydrogeological studies, instrumentation and structural health monitoring of buildings. As the Chief Geophysicist at Global Air Drones FZ LLC, he brings a sophisticated multidisciplinary approach integrating geology, geophysics, and hydrology to deliver technically robust solutions for infrastructure, water resource management, and mining projects.

Prior to his leadership role in advanced geophysical services, Waqas spent several years in Norway with VIRIDIEN (formerly CGG Services), where he managed complex seismic signal processing and depth imaging projects. During this tenure, he specialized in modern processing workflows, including velocity model building and data integration for major marine and OBS surveys in the North Sea, Norwegian Sea and Barents Sea.

In his capacity as Chief Geophysicist, Waqas leads specialized teams to bridge the gap between traditional geosciences and modern aerial data acquisition: Subsurface Characterization - Expert in planning and interpreting Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) and Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) for groundwater exploration and aquifer characterization. Seismic & Geotechnical Investigations - Managed refraction, reflection, MASW, and downhole seismic methods, alongside advanced geotechnical assessments such as pile instrumentation and Non-destructive testing of concrete. Asset Digitalization & GIS - Leads the digitization and interpretation of hydrogeological maps and watershed studies using advanced ArcGIS-based analysis. Structural Health Monitoring of buildings and water related infrastructure (Dams, bridges) - Experienced in planning and implementing monitoring systems using instruments such as piezometers, strain gauges, tiltmeters, settlement markers etc to assess structural performance and safety. Skilled in analysing monitoring data to detect deformation, seepage behaviour, and potential structural risks in hydraulic and civil infrastructure.

Waqas is committed to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and quality assurance. By implementing advanced algorithms and modern imaging workflows, he ensures that Global Air Drones FZ LLC remains at the forefront of geophysical innovation.

"We are geoscientists, engineers, and strategists using Drones as the ultimate tool to solve complex industrial problems."
